The goal of the Troops-to-Teacher program is place quality teachers having a military background into K-12 classrooms. Active duty, reserve and National Guard personnel can receive reimbursements of up to $5,000 for obtaining a teaching skills assessment and teacher education services that lead to a teaching job. Additional funding through other programs may also be used to defray costs. The Troops-to-Teachers funding is provided by the federalDepartment of Education.
